Finding a Therapist

The choice of a therapist is a very personal matter and probably the single most important factor is whether the person seems right for you.

You may also wish to know whether the therapist is recognised by one of the main bodies regulating the practice of psychotherapy and counselling in this country. Registration with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC), or in the case of counsellors, Accredited Practitioner Membership of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) means that the therapist or counsellor has reached an acknowledged level of experience and expertise, and also that they are bound by a recognised code of ethical practice.

Furthermore you will need to satisfy yourself that the therapist or counsellor can demonstrate training and experience in the field of dissociation.

If you would like the name of a therapist in your area that has experience of dissociation please e-mail remyaquarone@btconnect.com.
